Community Challenge Weekend

To help those in need tackle their every-day challenges, the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) created its Community Challenge Weekend (CCW) program in 1999.  The mission of CCW is to encourage ALA chapters, its members, firms, vendors, relatives and friends to come together to contribute time, energy, and resources toward improving their own communities and to make a difference in the lives of people in our communities.

The Arkansas Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators has taken this heartwarming program seriously by raising thousands of dollars for various charities through our Poor Man's Luncheons, bake sales, and silent auctions, collecting goods or services, and offering our time and resources.  Over the years, we have successfully raised funds for Arkansas Hospice, Juvenile Diabetes, CareLink, American Heart Association, Arthritis Foundation, Hope Lodge, and others.  We have donated our time at Arkansas Food Bank, Arkansas Rice Depot, and the Arkansas affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Foundation.  We have also had food drives and collected supplies for the Pulaski County and Saline County Humane Societies.

ALA Cookbook

The ALA is proud to offer a cookbook for sale in support of raising funds to fulfill our mission. A la Court offers an amazing selection of recipes and photos.  These recipes are as original and authentic as the courthouses themselves.  Beautiful photographs by John P. Gill, Esq., Bob Nelson, and Kim Davis depict a timeless collection of architecture and design of historic courthouse buildings of Arkansas. As you peruse this cookbook, you will see many recipes that you will want to try.  Delicious recipes were selected from the wonderful people in the legal profession, our friends, and relatives.  Your mouth will be watering as you savor the flavors of these clear, understandable recipes and magnificent photos throughout the book.  Serve several of these dishes altogether, or a la court!

The cookbooks are $15 and may be purchased from Diane Smith.

In 2016, the Arkansas Chapter was proud to help support the Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Pulaski County whose mission is to enable single parents to attain self-sufficiency through post-secondary education.  SPSF Pulaski County recipients access choices and have opportunities to complete their education, achieve financial independence, and meet the needs of their families.  We were happy to sponsor THREE scholarships for their organization.
